Getting into a lobby with a hacker isn't fun at all (in any game, not just COD). Thus I find myself enjoying more Single Player games recently (or connected single player, where your single player experience is slightly linked to your friends, but not to the public. An example is Infamous or Assassin's Creed 4)
Like really, gaming in general is going downhill for me. Every dev wants to shoehorn bullcrap MP into games that shouldn't have it, and MP games are ruined by idiots.
Oh and last night Ghosts had 74,000 people on PS3 and 40,000 on PS4 (probably more than that on 360 and less on X1 based on trends). COD used to have over 500,000 online at ALL TIMES when MW2 and BO1 were out. I remember Xbox 360 version of BO1 almost consistently hitting 1 million online. COD is dead.
You actually read my wall of text Vette LOL? Bravo my good sir!
- Even though there's only a fraction of the hackers now that there were back in the MW2 era, the ones that know how & have the tools/setup to RTM have more power at their fingertips than even JTAGs did back in the day. The ones that do it the way I used to (modified Eboots, SELF, ELF, & PKG files) are still getting caught depending on the game they hack, but even then all they have to do is change their console ID and they're back online in a matter of minutes. For the record, I never once used ANY sort of hacks in a public lobby only in private matches and I made sure that everyone knew what I was doing before I did anything if I had any of y'all with me at the time. I honestly regret doing it now though because not only have I been shunned by the community here ever since then, but I ended up getting console banned for hacking BO1 with a modded EBOOT. Since then, I've been 100% legit despite what Syn might say about me playing a certain mission a couple of weeks back on GTA5 LOL.
The night before last, I tried to play GTA in an invite only session as usual and ended up with 5 random people in my lobby! I quickly backed out to single player, went to a solo session, and still ended up with people in my lobby. After that, I just shut the game off because there's no way that I'm going to lose what I've worked so hard to earn legit and there's absolutely nothing R* can do about it. It's sad because there's a lot of people on my FL that I really enjoy playing with, but I can't take a chance on either them having been in a public lobby or playing with someone that has since some of the hacks act like infections which spread to other players.
DAMN!!! Only 74,000 players on PS3 Ghosts? COD is even more dead than I'd thought LOL.
