There are people out there who live for MP and there are people out there that live for SP no one side is wrong. Personally I have come to loather MP games and avaid them at all costs as I find the communities of such games while gaming to be a cesspool of immaturity and crass behavior not to mention two other key things I have found in my experience to be true for me,
1. The shift from needing strategy and it being implemented properly and skill being involved in online gaming in order to win has been replaced with what has become the 18th place trophy generation of gaming where everyone is a winner. Whether that is getting rewarded for dieing or from the game just being easier to play and the learning curve dumbed down for the masses.
2. Multi player games are not based on camaraderie anymore but trolling and abusive behavior.
- (My use of the term abusive behavior is not given lightly as I am of the mind that people throw around the term bullying to easily and to often these days, you need a certain level of bullying in life as you grow up so you can handle it when you are a grown up. There is a difference between bullying and abuse.)
I think I must explain #2. Way back in the days of RvS, UT and Q2 multi player games where just coming about. While they had been out before the push forward was most involved during those times. Taking UT for example, I loved that game. There were so many things to do in that game and while there was only a few modes it never got stale because of two main aspects. The Bots allowed one to play offline and the Bots also ensured the game moved forward by either killing stationary players or pushing forward into an area that caused a new spawn point or map turnover thus pushing campers out of their hiding spots.
Now everyone knows I hate campers, do not read spoiler for my thoughts
- and think that the mentality that comes with it is due to the community shift toward being a trolling camp favoring eff fest of sh*tbaggery due to everyone either giving in to the idea it is okay due to (cannot fight it anymore) or fully embracing it as their game lifestyle because it is so accepted..
Players used to be congratulatory on a win or loss and everyone got along. Sure there was some jabbing and the occasional sexist remark (in those days though you never revealed you were female, now a lot do it for attention) or general bullsh*t but for the most part everyone was on their best behavior and almost always got along if you did not get along you simply did not play on the same servers and nothing else was brought up about it. No retaliation or name calling or identity smear campaigns just a simple "no we really do not get along" and that was that. Today however there has to be a youtube video made of trash talking, and twatter accounts get flooded with peoples unimportant twits about it. Facebook campaigns and even fights break out about clans and individuals gaming record.
This new era of the COD community has infected all games. I know why this happened, I cannot prove it because you cannot use anecdotal evidence as fact but my gut feeling tells me I am right. I am not going to tell you because people would not really look at the implications of what I said instead focusing only on what is said.
So how does this all tie in with titanfall? It is simple I went from cold to warm to really hyped for this game to cold again, simply because you may not be able to play bots by yourself. I could find no data to support a claim either way as to if you could/could not play bots by yourself so I am stuck in a holding pattern. What bothers me of course is the support shown to a company that does not provide a service I like. For me spending the 60$ for a game is not the issue what is the issue is once you spend that 60$ you show the company through numbers that you support their decisions and behavior.
Talking to my friends that still game (they are getting more scarce as they move to parenthood) they are divided some cannot see paying 60$ for an online only game others do not really care but none of them focus on the supportive factor like I have maybe that makes me strange not sure.
So that is my reason for not getting TitanFall. Until I can find out either way if I can play by myself with bots and no other human players I will be in a holding pattern. I did look forward to this game but...
The other thing it has going against it is the whole Origin thing not a fan of that.

Titanfall could be fun, I'll give it a shot on 360 at least. No way will I be buying an X1 just to play the game, and I haven't had the time to look into building a gaming PC yet.

Now I don't know a TON about PC gaming but all of my friends that game on PC say that's the lowest system requirements they've seen in years. I'll be getting the game because it's from the creators of CoD1, CoD2, CoD4 and MW2... all CoD games that were actually pretty good and fast paced. Also, I played the beta and it was an insane amount of fun.
Walk.. there are not even private matches on launch but Vince Zampella has said they will be added at a later date. As to whether or not you can play against bots by yourself, I doubt it. The Titans in this game are the key feature and I don't know how that'd work with bots.
