i used to have my own firefighting tool years ago but it was stolen from me. ive been forced to use department issued tools for the past few years and they are always lacking. the department tools are either too long to use in a small area, too light to get the job done, etc.
i built my own tool, half sledgehammer, half ax. also known as a maul. cut 10 inches off the handle so i can use it in a confined space, its an 8 pound head so it will get the job done, and i wrapped that shit with grip tape.

it's really a 15 pounder, because every movement and every swing with it is going to be restricted by my 30 pounds of gear and a 25 pound airpack.
