I also think it is all the community. People are pieces of sh*t they were before all this crap was added, it is the community now, the new era of player which happens to coincide with the me me me entitled mentality. If it was the game then why isn't Alpha running around with Ghost why isn't Otis or Chisa or Kaz and Zcs camping or playing like a dbag? Because they have a sense of honor in gaming or their own moral code about it that the new community does not. That is not the game that is the community. The community made a huge stink about KDR and the companies went with it the community wants to hide and wants to play like ass hats and the companies went with it.
I do not mean this as a slight against XBOX and PS3 players such as you all so please dio not take it that way. But I think the hugest detrimental jump in the franchise was when the focus turned to the console player and did not stay with PC. Kids -for the most part- could not afford a PC and most family PC's were pretty outdated when the focus became consoles and the pool of players got larger they also got younger. The "hey look at me I just did a 120 no scope dolphin dive from a tank" and the "dude that was so cool how we held down that house and went 75/3" with 7 minutes of staring at the same bush type of game play was brought by the then younger crowd.
I agree it is the community.
I would also like to point out that it was Youtube that started it all. Names like WoR, ZzirGrizZ, and Tmartn. You can say the shift to focus on console players started with them.. but you cannot say it would not have happened if they concentrated on PC. If the game never released to consoles, I bet you would still get what you have today. No way of knowing though, because it never happened that way.
