show of hands...how many of you hate watching somebody play a game because you will automatically go a different way to them or take a different tactic.
this is exactly the same for sports i love playing i would drop EVERYTHING!! i am doing to play football. even gf time. like last night i knew nothing about it till 20 mins before i was dressed in about 20 seconds and i didnt care if i had a huge blister on my heel.

If you are a long time supporter or fan of soccer, then it's much easier to be interested in the game, but as far as a new viewer goes, there isn't much to be inspired over, or very little to be drawn in by.
There is a lot of setting up, a lot of back and forth, and very little scoring.
Any hockey fan will attest that a boring game is one where there is little scoring, few hits and even fewer fights.
In soccer, it's like a bad hockey game, over and over and over again.

I had a lot of fun playing soccer growing up, just can't watch it.

The only sports I'll watch are mountain biking and motocross--mostly on youtube to avoid commercials and other time wasting BS they interject into a TV broadcast.
Other than that, I'm more of a sports doer, not a sports watcher. I get free hockey tickets occasionally, but only go for the 8% beer they have at the stadium. And boobies. There are always nice boobies at a hockey game.

here in Boston, the boobies are usually on the beer bellied townies that roll in to see the Bruins

Reed made a dirty pass, nearly taking him and Stewie out of the race....Villo passed them and Christ boy gets a podium place.
The think with this is that passes are actually made, and it's less of a machine race. You can see the rider, read their body, see the frustration or anxiousness in their riding style.
With the obstacles, it makes the race change lap to lap. Top riders lap the slower riders in less than half the race time, and they become a new set of obstacles.
Can't watch car racing. Too impersonal, and the road is just flat with some turns.Bores the crap out of me.
