Well, embarassingly, I have found myself not wanting to play solo--realizing that solo matches have been the main contributing factor to such an horrific w/l ratio.
I found that I became a bit of a ratio addict.
KD can get ear fcked, but w/l has become what I care about.
I think to an extent, we all care about our stats...we're just unique in which ones, and to what degree we care about them.
Stress obviously comes into play, but I think that the stresses we feel come from a few different angles.
1. We hate campers
2. We hate killfarmers
3. We are objective capping freaks
4. We hate losing
5. We hate dying
When any of our values are compromised, we don't handle it very well, and, IMO, we don't necessarily adjust very well.
For myself, if we're getting wasted in, say, Domination, I don't seem to change things up much. I keep doing what isn't working.
If we play against a team of farmers and we can't seem to cap objectives, we get mad at the farming, and still try to play the objective as though our opponents are doing the same.
When the fight morphs into something else, we seem to cling to our pride and our principles, which is great. That's one of the things I like the best about our group. But I think we need better coping strategies for when things go sideways:
"Kaz, stop running in there. You have been killed 3 times doing it. It's not working."
"Kaz, connections are not in your favor, stay back. Watch this area."
"Hey we really need a BlackGirl...anyone close. Let's forget about capping this one right now, and get a streak that'll help us."
"Hey, we really need a CG up in the air to clean things up. Someone lay up and get 9".
My game mentality, whether Dom or HQ, is run, kill, cap. TDM, run and kill.
Not sure where y'alls minds are at, but I'm definately trying to be a stronger mental player, and it's not necessarily going to be developed in TDMC.
